The House & Its Host
A house Maradona didn't just buy — he keeps.
Bebej Tradicional sits above Gjirokastër's old bazaar, one of a handful of stone houses in Albania still lived in the way it was built: thick stone walls, timber ceilings, and rooms that open onto the Drino valley and the Gjerë mountains beyond.
Guests don't remember the hotel first — they remember Maradona. He sends arrival directions before you've even set off, meets steep streets with a ride into town, and starts the morning with a table set for you personally. It is, guests keep saying, the reason they'd come back.
"Mikpritja" — the Albanian word for hospitality, and the house rule here.
